Thighs of a woman open and close in front of a coastal landscape in seemingly endless and very slow repetition. In another place the logos of well-known supermarket chains change into caleidoscopic mandalas. The loud colors of a consumer society are recomposed to continous patterns. Or the eye of the beholder wanders through the dimly lit interior of a theatre shortly before the beginning of the show. Only pairs of flashing binoculars from the audience are visible, accompanied by a subdued murmur of voices.

The exhibition Slow Motion from 28 June - 18 August will present a total of 10 positions in contemporary video art. The common link between all works is the minimal use of motion and action. Some videos are reduced to individual, carefully selected scenes that are repeating in an endless loop. Or the camera remains focused on one spot with hardly any noticeable motion. The seemingly monotonous is what creates the fascination of these works. Instead of being granted immediate and easy access to these works the beholder is mesmerized by their meditational quality. As the borders between real and medial worls dissolve the beholder is drawn into the subtile suspense of another dimension of space and time, drowned in daydreams and memories far from the experience of hectical everyday life.
